Google review QR code: how to make one and where to put it

Updated 28 October 2026 · By the Revvo team

A Google review QR code lets a customer open your review box by pointing their camera at the counter. No searching, no typing. It is the single easiest upgrade for getting more reviews in a physical shop.

How to make one in a minute

  1. Get your direct review link. See how to find your Google review link.
  2. Paste it into our free Google review QR code tool.
  3. Download the PNG and print it. Keep it at least 4 cm wide so older phones can scan it from arm’s length.

Where to put it

  • Billing counter: next to your UPI payment QR, where every customer already looks.
  • Tables: a small table tent in restaurants and cafés.
  • Mirrors and reception: in salons, spas and clinics.
  • Bills, cards and bags: for takeaway, delivery and retail.

What to print with it

A QR code alone is easy to ignore. Add one short line people can read from a step away:

  • “Liked your visit? Scan to review us on Google. 20 seconds.”
  • Your shop name, so customers trust what they are scanning.
  • Five stars or the Google “G”, so it is obvious what it is for.

Do not print “Review us and get 10% off”. Rewards for reviews break Google’s rules (see the rules).

Common mistakes

  • Linking to your Maps listing instead of the review box. Customers then have to scroll and find the button.
  • Printing it too small or on glossy paper under a bright light, where cameras struggle.
  • Mixing it up with the payment QR. Use a different colour or a clear label.
  • Never checking it. Scan your own code once a month to make sure it still opens your shop.

A plain QR code vs Revvo

A plain QR code opens Google’s empty review box, and many customers still leave because they do not know what to write. Revvo’s QR code first lets the customer tap their star rating and what they liked, writes a short review in simple English for them to edit, then opens Google to post it.

Questions shop owners ask

Is a Google review QR code free?

Yes. You can make one from your review link with any QR generator, including the free Revvo tool. It does not expire.

What size should a review QR code be?

At least 4 cm by 4 cm for a counter, bigger if people scan it from further away. Print it on matte paper for best scanning.

Can one QR code work for multiple branches?

No. Each branch has its own Google listing, so each branch needs its own review link and QR code.
